Stock & Land is a leading rural weekly newspaper, catering for livestock and cropping farmers and allied businesses who derive most of their income from agriculture. Founded in 1914, it is distributed across Victoria, southern NSW, south eastern South Australia and Tasmania. Stock & Land is broken up into easy-to-read sections to service the main commodity areas of sheep and wool, beef and cattle, agribusiness, cropping and dairying. Additional sections include property and Tasmanian Extra along with AgTrader classifieds and Livestock Sales and a highly regarded Markets section. There are also two monthly advertising sections, AgTrader Monthly and Top Products. Stock & Land also produces stand-alone special publications which include the quarterly Tasmanian Farmer newspaper, Rural Events (Field Days) Guide, Stock & Land Beef Week Field Days book, Victorian Merino Yearbook and annual new initiatives. Stock & Land’s strength lies in its coverage of prime, store and purebred livestock throughout south east Australia where it maintains the greatest volume of livestock for sale advertising of any paper in the country.
